Friedrich von Hahn (July 27, 1742 - October 9, 1805)
Born on July 27, 1742 in Neuhaus, Germany.
Hahn discovered the central star of
the Ring Nebula, M57 in about 1795, when
observing the nebula with his 12" reflector of Herschel type
(Hahn 1800).
He died on October 9, 1805 in Remplin, Mecklenburg, Germany at age 63.
Friedrich von Hahn was honored by the naming of Moon Crater Hahn,
at the NE limb of the Moon's disk.
