Objects within the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC)

The first individual deepsky object cataloged in the LMC was the Tarantula Nebula (NGC 2070) which had been found by Lacaille. A multitude of objects which are now listed in the NGC have been discovered by James Dunlop and John Herschel.
