Date: Sat March 22, 2015 at 05:43 pm From: Pooja Tolia Subject: Messier Marathon 19-20 March, 2015 - Result We are glad to inform you that the 2 of us - Pooja Tolia and Rhushikesh Deshpande did a Messier Marathon on 19-20 March, 2015 from a Farmhouse at Saralgaon, near Kalyan, Mumbai, India and successfully located 103 M-objects manually with the telescope in a single night. This was our first Messier Marathon. The instruments we used were 8" Reflector on EQ5 (F/4.9) and 90mm Refractor (FL – 900mm). The Objects we missed were - M31, M32, M110, M33, M74, M73, and M30. The evening objects became extremely difficult to track because there was a fire lit by the villagers on the western and north-eastern side, because of which we missed most of the evening objects in the haze. Later the sky conditions improved and we could track 103 objects, again we lost 2 objects in the morning because of the morning glow. Log was maintained by Pooja Tolia. Regards, Pooja Tolia, (poojatolia.wordpress.com) Rhushikesh Deshpande.
