H.D. Curtis was honored by naming a Moon Crater after him (14.6N, 56.6E, 2.0 km diameter, in 1973). Asteroid (3621) Curtis was discovered by N.G. Thomas at Anderson Mesa on September 26, 1981 and provisionally designated 1981 SQ1. Other independent sightings have been 1970 QH1, 1979 KS, and 1981 VB1.
