The nearby bright spiral galaxy M 81, shown in a V-band CCD image taken with the 1.1-meter Hall telescope at Lowell Observatory. A logarithmic intensity mapping has been used to preserve detail over the wide dynamic range of this image, which covers a field 9..4 arcminutes square thanks to a focal reducer.
