Michael Purcell took this CCD image of M58, which he classifies a compact barred spiral galaxy, as its type is given as SAB(rs)b. The image was taken from the Grove Creek Observatory (GCO), Australia, with their Celestron C-14 (f/7) SC telescope and ST-7E CCD camera, on April 7, 2000 at 22:32. It is a 10 minute exposure.
