NGC 604 was discovered by William Herschel on September 11, 1784. Triple star NGC 603 was cataloged by Lord Rosse, who thought it was involved in a cluster or nebula, which before 1976, Harold Corwin found to be an error. NGC 588 and NGC 592 were found by Heinrich Ludwig d'Arrest on October 2, 1861, who also found NGC 595 on October 1, 1864. All the IC objects have been first cataloged by Guillaume Bigourdan before 1891.
Well, and M33 had been discovered by Charles Messier on August 25, 1764.
