The Lagoon-Trifid nebulae region in Sagittarius
taken from the Digital Sky Survey Messier collection of Bill Arnett
This image of the Digital Sky Survey shows the
Lagoon Nebula M8 brightly below center,
the Trifid Nebula M20 slightly right of
top center, and close above left the young open cluster
M21. It shows more stellar clouds, clusters,
and dark and bright nebula on closer investigation. The field is 3 degrees.
